Blescohouse Schools<\/strong><\/p>\n

Blescohouse School was started in 2009 by Francis Theuri to help as many poor and under-resourced children in Kenya to get an education without the struggles he had as a child. Read his story here<\/a>.\u00a0 In 2013 God led Cornerstone Fellowship to this school as a next step in our support for over 100 former street kids or poor whom God had placed in our care.<\/p>\n \n

Primary (Grades 1 - 8)<\/a><\/h2>
Cornerstone Fellowship currently sponsors about 60 students in Grades 5-8. The school year runs from January-November with breaks during April & August. Most of the students go home to be with their guardians and family during the breaks . . except the 7th & 8th graders who spend an extra 2 weeks in studies preparing for the very important Grade 8 exams, before going home for a break.<\/div>

Boy's High School<\/a><\/h2>
The boys\u2019 school is on a property outside Nakuru, on the way to Nairobi, about 20 miles away. Blescohouse schools opened this school for our boys in 2013, using their holiday home and some temporary buildings. At the end of 2014 they broke ground and began building a boys\u2019 dorm and temporary classrooms. At the end of 2015 they removed all the temporary buildings to construct 8 permanent classrooms, a big kitchen, a science lab and began construction of a large multi-purpose hall to be completed in April 2016.<\/div>

Girl's High School<\/a><\/h2>
The Girls\u2019 high school is on the same property as the primary school. They follow the same schedule with the juniors and seniors doing extra studies during a portion of the school breaks to prepare for their very important high school exit exams. Cornerstone Fellowship sponsors about 40 high school girls.<\/div>

Letters from Sponsors<\/a><\/h2>
Our sponsors write letters to the child(ren) they sponsor about twice a year, and then receive a letter back, along with a new photo once a year. These letters mean SO MUCH to the kids, especially when everyone else is getting one, they do not want to be left out, but they also feel a real connection to their sponsor, like a part of their family and look forward to any news or encouragement that is being sent.<\/div>
